Having played in various bands since my early teens, I think I have covered most musical genres at some time or another.. My early influences were vocal harmony bands like The Four Seasons, The Beach Boys, and the Four Freshmen, but equally I loved early blues and soul and I believe this strange mix is still very evident in my playing and singing today
My first drum kit was a fairly old Ludwig Super Classic. It sounded better than it looked and though I treated it with great respect I would regularly be found repairing something during a break instead of relaxing with a cold beer. I have since used Pearl kits and my beer intake has increased amazingly!. I currently play a Masters Maple Custom on stage while for practice (yes you DO still need to practice my little drum buddies!) I play a Pearl BLX.
I am very passionate about drumming and I would like to think that my passion has helped persuaded a few sceptics that a drum kit is a “real” instrument and has encouraged others to play the oldest instrument in the world!
